    Default broadband usage

First off I'm new here, and I have a question. I would like to know where I can find a gadget that will monitor my usage(like in my sidebar),for my daily use.I've only had wildblue for a couple of months and really didn't know anything about usage, till I got an email telling me I was over, well I really didn't understand that ,cuz the rep said I shouldn't have to worry as long as I wasn't a gamer or watch videos or tv and I don't, I surf and email,so I called , not email-never get a response back- so the girl on the phone told me about the(my usage page) anyway the usage kept going up, so I called again and?????, finally came to the conclusion that I had better upgrade, so now I have the middle package ,so far its staying below the 50% mark, can't really say that I have seen much change as far as speed goes, but thats why I'm wondering about a window gadget that I can view.

Net Meter from metal-machine.de is popular.

The usual suspects committing out-of-control usage is evil-ware, gaming, P2P applications and service thieves. Monday the WB mods will be along to try to help.

Yes, but Lily asked for something in her sidebar.

    Thumbs down no usage gadget

Just talked to a woman named Judy. She tried to add the bandwidth usage gadget to my page. She couldn't find it. I was also told that Wildblue is for surfing & E-mail only. Not recommended for gamers.
If anyone can go with a cable or DSL company, I recommend to go in that direction. I unfortunately don't have that option. My only option is dialup. That is why I strongly urge any wildblue customer that can jump ship to do so as soon as possible.

Why would anyone even consider a satellite internet provider if something other than dial up available. The only reason I can think of would be stupidly. Why pay the monthly cost of satellite service if you can get DSL or cable for much less with fewer restrictions.

This is pretty obvious to all but the most naive. Satellite internet is a last resort. Although, in my case I now have a local WISP which is actually more expensive than WildBlue and with lower throughput and a lower FAP. So, I guess I actually do have an option of spending more money for even less performance.

There has been a lot of only one post people lately. I have a question I saw in a lot of posts that say wild blue isn't recommended for gamers. I have my pS3 hooked up through my router and use it often to play games online and I've not noticed the latency or FAP to be an issue at all for me. I assume those are the 2 reasons they don't recommend using wild blue to game online.
