You can get a second account, and if that is not enough a third, forth . . .

Forum Agitator; you know, like that thingy in a washing machine that drives the dirt out.

You would be mistaken. Off-peak hours would be perfect for me. I am not "most people". I don't keep regular hours, and even if I'm not at home, I can have downloads set on a timer.

I'd sooner cut out my ISP than cut back on usage more than I already have.

I'm not using ridiculous amounts of bandwidth. It's not like I'm running a bittorrent or FTP server.

If I can't visit my community and watch 2-3 hours of streaming videos per week, there's no reason for me to keep this plan.

If I was paying... hell, even $50/mo, I could see them being so stingy. But I'm paying $100/mo. That should buy me access to my community and 3 hours of video per week.

20 Mb/s doesn't mean crap if it's all gone before the month is half over.

I also think the plan selector tool is a bit misleading. In my experience video tends to run about 1GB per hour, so I avoid that except a rare short youtube (under 5 mins) once or twice a month. Email is also misleading 10 emails might be fine but if you run a client, then you have to count the spam it will download as well, and I think many do run clients so emails can be 100+ per day. Add AV and OS updates, the occasional driver update and a few visits to a graphics loaded page and you will chomping the bit on 15 GB rather quickly.

One reason I stayed on Legacy, with Exceed I'd pay 50.00 more for 2 GB less and, though it's a bit faster, that seems a lot to ask. Now same price plus lease for the 2GB less, okay I can see that.

Of course video b/w usage all depends on video quality. For example, Netflix gives you 3 (or 4) settings to control average usage:

" Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)"

You can do the math from there.

At this point, I too am sort of wishing we'd stayed with Legacy. Though we get much quicker speeds with Exede, we really didn't have issues with possibly going over on Wildblue unless I downloaded extensively. This was, I believe, thanks to the separate upload/download measurements. I really did enjoy that service. The rolling helped a lot, too -- it never felt like you were in as much "danger". To be paying the same price (I seem to recall Pro Pack was $80/month back when we had it, maybe it's lower now?) for 2 GB less data really drives me a little crazy. Paying significantly more for 25 GB isn't too appealing to me.

I'm online for 12/14 hours per day as I work from home. I don't watch Youtube videos because a normal day of browsing - even when I cut out things like Tumblr - still uses 500 MB or more up and down per day. I love the speeds, just don't feel like I can take much advantage of it, which is a shame.
