Hey everyone, speakeasy.net has returned results that are more accurate for satellite-based Internet like Exede and WildBlue.
When you see results of 30 Mbps and greater, that's inaccurate. You must clear your cache before each test, OR select a server in a different city.
For example, if you select San Francisco's server, and you get a result of, say 15 Mbps.....then if you test again using the same San Francisco server, that's when you might get results of 30 Mbps or more. If you clear your cache and select San Francisco again, you'll most likely get about the same speed as the first time you tested it. Hope this helps...thank you.

Steve, I'm not sure I see a difference in Speedtest.net and speakeasy.net since they both use the proprietary software ookla.
The old version of Internetfrog.com speed test (which uses Java) provides ok results.

This is from test my...I am also on one of the old plans as I am really not sure I want to upgrade and get the same continual disappointing results, I am not over in my usage, but I'd have to say that this really is a fairly normal speed for me. (Clear skies so no clouds in the way) The only 'good' thins is most times it is faster then dial up. Sometimes if I'm lucky I can get some good speed in downloading in the middle of the night.
