Ninaplat. .. NEWSFLASH! Wildblue changed the Recovery Act plans, there are now only 3 plans offered, they reduced it from the 5 plans Wilsone addresses above. The five plans listed on your agreement is no longer accurate. The current offerings are:

    Basic, 1Mbps download, 10.3 GB usage, 39.95
    Commercial 3Mbps download, 27GB usage, 69.95
    Platinum, 8Mbps download, 60GB usage, 119.95

As far as the commercial not being fast enough for VOIP, it will probably be fine. We have people using VOIP on 5Mbps Exede with no problems. The biggest issue with using VOIP is not really the download speed anyway. The issue is the latency, and with the new Accelenet technology, that has been pretty much resolved. You can always get the Commercial, and if it doesn't work, upgrade to the Platinum. Wildblue allows you to do that without any penalty. I hope this helps.

    Default Gold Plan and voip

Thanks, SatTech. I called before I saw your reply as my Exede had gone down but it is back up and running now. I am on the commercial plan. I was told that the Gold Plan was not available in my area at this time when I inquired about it. I will wait till someone on the forum says they have used voip with the commercial plan successfully before I switch. Thanks for the information.

I have used commercial for my Voip Phone System and it seems to work well with it. I was worried I would need more, but assuming I try to make the cheapest voip calls, it seems to work well so far. I might switch to gold to just have better services, but for now I think it will do!
