Thread: Thanks WildBlue

    Default Thanks WildBlue

We have had WildBlue for about 2 years now, and overall been very satisfied with the service.
The wife and I pretty much just surf, shop, watch videos, etc. My son has been playing alot of WOW and the service seems to be working well for him.
The weather can be an issue at times, although this seems to be improving. I would like to see WildBlue have poor weather reliability equal to DirecTV,however this may not be technically feasible. I dunno.
We previously had only dial-up, and the WildBlue combined with a wireless router for the house has made a tremendous improvement in our internet fun.

Keep in mind that WildBlue has to transmit and receive while DirecTV only has to receive. I have both and the pattern is consistent, the WB goes out first and a minute or so later the TV goes out. Once the TV comes back on solid the WB will follow within a couple minutes. Your WildBlue should not go out unless there is heavy rain or thunder storms in the area.

Or bad weather at your gateway. It's good to determine where your gateway is located and check the weather there when you experience discrepancies with your service while the weather is clear there. =)

Hmmm, we definately have a signifigant difference in poor weather performance between WildBlue and DirecTV. Makes me wonder if our dish needs to be tweaked a bit.

I would really like to see WildBlue have some kind of screen/program to monitor input signal strength, similar to what DirecTV has.

    Thanks for the replies, John
