Thread: A few Suggestions I wanted to bring up....

Wink A few Suggestions I wanted to bring up....

I am into technology alot and I always find new things that could be added or remove to make something better. I was sitting here the other day and I was going over the WildBlue Website and Fap and so on and I noticed some things that could be changed to improve the service and make alot of customers more happy or as some would say "It's fine the way it is" but not me though since things can always be improved no matter what.

Here are the Suggestions I have which are numbered....

    1. I think the 30-Day bandwith Data usage of a customer should be linked to their Billing cycle so their usage is reset every time their are billed instead of every 30-Days since some months have 31-Days. This will eliminate some customers from possibly going over their limits for the month.

    2. 2nd I think that the FAP should be looked over and redone. I noticed that there is a few things that sound to strict. For one, if the customer gets to their bandwith limit for the month, then instead of a violation, they should get their access limited to Dial-up speed and remain that way until their next billing date and then be reset.

    3. As for the Bandwith Limits, I will say they are ok at where they are. Some may say they need more bandwith but others may say it's ok where they are at. I say wait until the new sat company takes control and updates the whole sat thing then maybe you may get more bandwith. Who knows yet.

    4. This one is actually an issue for me and may be for some others but every time I call WildBlue Customer Service, if I get a Woman on the line, half the time it seems they don't get what I am talking about and it seems I don't get my problem solved. But when I call back and get a male customer service agent, my problem is always solved right away and they always know what I am talking about. I am not trying to put down women now but I have to say, if a woman wants to work for any company, make sure you know what the customer is talking about before you take on the call.

5.I noticed that on the packages that each package has it's own set download and upload speed. I think that all the packages should have the same speed. It's too confusing to remember what speed you have on what package you are on. Also I noticed that I never get to half the speed that is said to be what I can get for my package. Even at night when hardly anyone is on, it's still the same. I have tried many different methods to try and speed it up here and even used the WildBlue Optimizer but no luck. Maybe my computer is needing a clean out. Who knows. LOL

I had some other ideas and suggestions but I can't remember right now so I will come back once I remember.

Thanks everyone for your time to read this and also post suggestions you may have since I am curious as to what others think to on these matters.

    Thanks,
    CornPipe75

    fun another poll..... http://wildblueworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2066

The service is great for people (like me) who have no other options other than dial-up, rolling fap works just fine, limits are fine, and speeds are fine when everything is installed correctly.

    You are mistaken. Thank you.

Having your meter reset every 30 days would cause usage spikes and network wide slowdowns at the end of the month due to people trying to make sure they "get what they pay for".

Well if we are going to pay $50.00 to $90.00 for Satellite internet, Don't you think we should get our moneys worth???

If Wildblue can't keep up with the speed and Bandwith then I think they should definetly add more then.

I think it's only Fair and legal that we get our moneys worth otherwise it be WildBlue stealing from us.

Ask a Lawyer or any legal person and they will tell you the same. My lawyer I use for legal purposes says so too.

Your FAP data (bandwidth) is never reset...no matter when your billing cycle starts/ends...your Bandwidth usage (FAP) is always the SUM of the past 30 days usage. That's why it's called a "rolling 30 day sum"..

    2. 2nd I think that the FAP should be looked over and redone. I noticed that there is a few things that sound to strict. For one, if the customer gets to their bandwith limit for the month, then instead of a violation, they should get their access limited to Dial-up speed and remain that way until their next billing date and then be reset.

Again, their usage is never "reset".(rolling 30 days)..when a customer exceeds 100% of his download or upload limit his speed is reduced to dial-up speed until the usage returns to 80% or less..the customer never looses WB internet access.

    3. As for the Bandwith Limits, I will say they are ok at where they are. Some may say they need more bandwith but others may say it's ok where they are at. I say wait until the new sat company takes control and updates the whole sat thing then maybe you may get more bandwith. Who knows yet.

That may happen...right now the bandwidth limits are based on the package you subscribe to...from Value Pak on through the Pro Pak and Enterprise accounts..the customer chooses...and can be changed from one to the other with a phone call and with no service fee.

Paying your bill each month should straighten out any confusion you may have about which package/speed you have, the faster speeds pay more, and you would notice that.

Your times for fastest speeds are wrong...at night is when usage is the heaviest and slowest...early mornings have the least usage and fastest speeds.

I'm not trying to be cute or a smart-a$$ but I think you and your lawyer should read the contract you signed to get Wildblue...after that, point out the part that Wildblue is violating...
