4. HOW DO I configure DHCP settings on windows XP?
Close all applications that are active on the customer PC
Click on Start button on the Windows toolbar
Select Control Panel from the pop-up menu to open the Control Panel window
On the Control Panel window, click the Network and Internet Connections text
Icon to open the Network and Internet Connections window
On the Network and Internet Connections
window, click the Network Connections text
Icon to open the Network Connections window
On the Network Connections window, right-click
on the Local Area Connection graphics icon and select Properties
On the Local Area Connection Properties window, click on the General tab. In the “This connection uses the following items:”
field, click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) text Icon, and then click on the Properties button to
open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window
On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties
window select the radio buttons for Obtain an
IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically and then click on the OK button to save the changes and close
the window
On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click the OK button to close
On the Local Area Connection Properties Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, click the OK button to close the window
On the Local Area Connection window, click the Close button to close the window
